SHOLEH’S ‘MIGHT HAVE BEEN’ CHOSEN BY VACI
CHAUTAUQUA, NY (May 10, 2010) – The Visual Arts at Chatauqua Institution (“VACI”) has selected Sholeh Janati’s 2010 painting, “What Might Have Been,” to be included in its highly competitive 53rd Annual Exhibition of Contemporary Art.
Sholeh will attend the opening of the exhibition in Chatauqua, NY on Sunday, June 27, 2010 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at the Strohl Art Center, a beautifully renovated 5,000 square foot art gallery located on the grounds of the renowned Chautauqua Institution.
Open to all US and international artists and encompassing all mediums, the prestigious VACI competition has long been considered one of America’s most prestigious annual contemporary art exhibitions.
The Chautauqua Institution is a cultural Institution supporting education, recreation, religion, fine arts, music, theater, opera and dance located in southwestern New York State, founded in 1874. The Visual Arts at Chautauqua Institution encompasses a summer School of Art, the Strohl Art Center, the Fowler-Kellogg Art Center and a Visual Arts lecture Series.
This year’s juror of the VACI show was Kim Foster, Director of Kim Foster Gallery. Located at 529 West 20th Street in the Chelsea art district of New York City since 1999, the Foster gallery now has 3,000 square feet of exhibition space and is open year-round.
